The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP governorship candidate, Abba Kabir Yusuf winner of the last Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Kano State. Yusuf polled 1.019, 063 votes to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nasir Gawuna who polled 890,706. Mohammed Abacha of the People Democratic Party scored 15,957 votes. Ben Ezechime, Enugu For the second time, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has again suspended the collation of results of last Saturday’s governorship election in the state. A statement from the headquarter of INEC in Abuja signed by Mr Festus Okoye, Commissioner, Information and Voter Education and Publicity (VEP) said the collation of the controversial results of Nsukka LGA and Nkanu East be suspended while they look into the complaints. BREAKING: INEC suspends collation of guber results in Abia, Enugu By Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has directed the immediate suspension of collation of governorship election results in Abia and Enugu States. INEC cited alleged cases of violence, irregularities and invasion of its offices in the affected states as reason for the action. According to a statement issued Monday by the Head, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, the commission would review results in the affected LGAs.
