Ugo Nosiri, Owerri Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has presented the 2025 budget estimate of  N755.5 billion before the State House of Assembly. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka  The Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) has dismissed petition by the law firm of Chief Afe Babalola SAN, Emmanuel Chambers, seeking the removal of activist lawyer, Dele Farotimi, from the roll of legal practitioners.  The petition alleged that Farotimi’s book, “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System,” contained defamatory statements against the Supreme Court and the legal profession. The book reportedly referenced suit number SC/146/2006 between Major Muritala Gbadamosi Eletu and HRH Oba Tijani Akinloye and others, claiming corruption, bribery, and other unethical practices involving judicial officers and the legal community. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into Law. Soludo gave assent to the bill at the Governor’s lodge, Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area, Monday. Recall that Anambra State’s budget size is N606,991,849,118 for the 2025 fiscal year. While recurrent expenditure accounts for N139.5 billion; capital expenditure is N467.5 billion. The capital expenditure constitutes 77% of the total budget size, while the recurrent expenditure accounts for 23%. Performing the function, Governor Soludo expressed optimism that the budget will catalyse change in the state in the coming year.

Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki  The State House of Assembly has passed the total sum of N444, 978,000,000 billion into law as budget for the year 2025. The State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, had presented a proposed budget of N398.69bn to the House three weeks ago. Alex Otti of Abia State has once again shown his preference for merit over other primordial considerations by appointing  Mr Benson Ojeikere from Edo State, as the new Head of Service for Abia State.
