Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Ebonyi State Government has approved the distribution of palliatives to residents to cushion the effects of hardships caused by the currency redesign policy of the Federal Government. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi on Friday announced the suspension of Ebubeagu South-East Security Outfit and setting up of two new vigilante outfits to replace it. The two new outfits are Ebonyi State Neighbourhood Watch and Ebonyi State Vigilante Corps. This followed the passage of a new law setting up the two outfits by the State House of Assembly and signing of same into law by the Governor. President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Chibueze Nnamani, disclosed this in Enugu at the conclusion of the examination set for the applicants. He said that the exercise would select the best persons fit to be Customary Court judges, adding that there were 459 vacant positions to be filled.
