Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Jersey City Medical Center, an RWJ Barnabas Health facility, in the United States of America, has named Ijeoma, the daughter of the late Minister of Information and Communication, Professor Dora Akunyili, its Chief Medical Officer. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia No fewer than eight persons have been confirmed dead, and seven critically injured in a fatal road accident that occurred early Friday morning on Aba area of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. The auto crash involving a Toyota bus and a stationary truck happened around 6:00 am between Umueka and Aro Ngwa junction of the dual carriage highway. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has extended the on-going collection of Permanent Voter Cards PVCs, by one week. INEC which took the decision at its regular meeting Thursday in Abuja, said the exercise would now end January 29 instead of Sunday January 22. The commission in a press statement issued by its National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, said the decision was to ensure no eligible voter was disenfranchised.
