Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has ordered for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairman, Stanley Emegha, and Mr Eni Uduma Chima, the party’s House of Representatives candidate for their roles in the murder of three persons in the community. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has appointed Bashorun Akin Osuntokun, a former Political Adviser to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, as the Director General of his Campaign Organization. Osuntokun is a replacement for Dr Doyin Okupe who resigned last week after he was convicted of money laundering charge by an Abuja High Court. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Three persons have been killed, as rival gangs loyal to two All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts in Afikpo South Local Government area of Ebonyi State clashed. One of the victims, it was gathered is a police officer. The incident, it was learnt, happened in Ekoli-Edda community in the council area on boxing day. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has dispelled the rumour of death of its President General, Professor George Obiozor. The social media have been awash that Obiozor who is rumoured sick for about two weeks now is dead. Vice President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr Kingsley Dozie, who debunked the rumour, dismissed it as “unfounded and false.” According to him, a prominent Igbo son like Professor Obiozor could not have died and the family will not make a statement to that effect. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Aba-based legal practitioner, Mr Victor Onweremmadu, has sued the National Judicial Council (NJC) and Abia Judicial Service Commission (ABJSC), for allegedly breaching rules for appointment of judges. The plaintiff who addressed the press in Aba, said he decided to drag the duo to the court in order to correct the anomaly and and restore the inherent respect for seniority in the legal profession.
