Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Gunmen have reportedly killed a member of the Ebubeagu security outfit in Ebonyi State. The incident, it was gathered, took place at Okposi community, in the Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state, at 11pm, on Sunday. The victim, whose name was given as Joseph Nwanja, was said to have been gunned down at a checkpoint in the area. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Ebonyi State Government has banned any form of political rallies in all primary and secondary schools from November 1, 2022. The State Governor, David Umahi, announced the decision at the citizens’ input and consultation for the 2023 budget estimation, and Nigeria 2023 pollution and housing census in Ebonyi State. Umahi said all political rallies, including the All Progressives Congress, must get approval from the Commissioner of Education before such rallies will hold. According to him, the ban is sequel to the defacing and destruction of facilities at the schools with faeces and other dirt during such rallies.…

Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri The Imo state Water and Sewage Corporation, on Sunday, raised an alarm warning members of the public to stop open defecation, refuse dump and building of houses around the Otamiri water head in Owerri, to stop contamination of its water sources from the Otamiri River in the state.
