Ben Ezechime, Enugu The 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu has confirmed the rescue of a kidnapped victim, named, Dr Maxwell Ayim, by the troops of 103 Battalion (Rear) on Operation UDO KA II along Four Corner-Agbogwe in Udi Local Government Area. …To pay arrears from January 2023 Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Federal Government has reviewed salaries of both the academic and non-academic staff in all federal tertiary institutions. National Salaries, Wages and Income Commission, approved the payment of a new salary structure with arrears to be paid from January 2023. According to the new wage structure, the entire workforce will enjoy 25% increase while those in the professorial cadre will receive 35% increase. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Abia State Government said it had begun the payment of compensation to owners of structures affected in the proposed six-lane Ossah Road expansion project. Gov. Alex Otti, had about two months ago, hinted of his plans to expand the Ossah road which serves as the major entrance route to Umuahia the state capital from the Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway. Ben Ezechime, Enugu Professor Obiora Nwosu, Vice Chancellor of Paul University, Awka, Anambra State, has commended management of College of Post Graduate Studies of the university for orgainsing a round-table on democracy in Africa. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Ebonyi-born Medical Doctor, Sunday Isaac Nwigboji, has won three postgraduate national medical awards at the 41st Hybrid Convocation Ceremony of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN). Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Dr Alex Otti-led Abia State Government has vowed that there is no going back on Due Process in the award of contracts in the state as six persons have succeeded in the bid for waste management in the state.
