Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Nigeria’s first indigenous Chartered Accountant, Akintola Williams, is dead. He died at his Lagos residence, Monday, at the ripe age of 104 years according to a family source which did not want to be disclosed. Williams was born in 1919. He also attended the prestigious Yaba Higher College on a UAC scholarship, from where he obtained a Diploma in Commerce. In 1944, he travelled to England where he studied at the University of London. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Political stakeholders in Abia North, have tasked the National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal to fair and upright in its judgment of the pending petitions arising from the February 25 senatorial contest in the district. Ben Ezechime, Enugu The Enugu State Government has commended the United Kingdom Government for setting up a visa centre in the state to facilitate applications by citizens of the state and the South-East zone. This was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Chidiebere Onyia, made available to Journalists in Enugu.
