Lawrence Nwimo, Awka The Anambra State Government has commenced healthcare intervention services for displaced flood victims staying in holding centres across the state to ease their sufferings. The victims received cartons of drugs and mosquito-treated nets at their various centres. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki A 32 years old man, Arinze Chukwu, has reportedly hacked his mother to death with an axe in Ndieze community, Okpoto Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. It was gathered that the 60-year-old woman had reported Arinze to be reprimanded for his bad behaviours, following which the youths of the community tied him up at the village square. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia. A total of 18 candidates have been shortlisted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the 2023 governorship poll in Abia State. Out of the 18 successful candidates on the INEC’s final list published Tuesday at the INEC headquarters in Umuahia, only two candidates are females while 16 are males.
