Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, and Chief Ifeanyichukwuma Odii have emerged the authentic candidates for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 2023 election for Ebonyi State. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Chukwuemeka Chukwu disclosed this in Abakaliki on Tuesday. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Governor David Umahi is again in the news for the wrong reason following a video which trended online on Tuesday in which he was accused of ordering soldiers to flog some civil servants in the State. The video was said to have been first shared by human rights activist, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, on his Twitter handle. In the video, the governor’s car could be seen with some of his security aides standing and watching the soldiers flogging some person’s lying on the ground. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, popularly known as the ” Obedient Movement,” have threatened legal action against those behind the purported endorsement of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Abia South senatorial race in 2023, hiding under the umbrella of the movement.
