Prior to 2019, summers in Uli were marked by Jehovah’s Witnesses filling hotels and restaurants as they attended their annual conventions at the Uli Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in the State. Ben Ezechime, Enugu Gunmen on Saturday attacked the former Chairman of Udenu Local Area, Enugu State, Dr Godwin Abonyi and his wife along Ugwuogo-Neke Road. The gunmen, who were reportedly armed to the teeth sprayed bullets on the SUV Jeep while the former chairman and his wife were on their way from Enugu city to Obollo. Juliet Egbo, against the victory of Hon. Chimaobi Atu of the Labour Party (LP).
