Nonsochukwu Uwa, Uwa A yet to be identified young man, Thursday night was found dead at the transformer near the Government Secondary School, Owerri, Imo State. An eyewitness at the school who did not want to his name mentioned told newsmen that the man’s body had been burnt beyond recognition. Nonsochulwu Uwa, Owerri Security operatives on Saturday afternoon foiled an attempt to kidnap the owner of a jewelry shop along Ikenegbu Street, close to Kilimanjaro eatery, in Owerri, Imo State. And in doing so, the operatives shot dead the driver of the said kidnappers and arrested two other suspects. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of pro-Biafra agitation group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has ordered an end to all sit-at-home order in the South-East. Kanu also ordered an end to any other proposed means aimed by the group at forcing government to release him from detention. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, serving senators from the state and outside the state, former governors of the state on Friday bid farewell to Senator Anyim Ude, who represented Ebonyi South zone at the Senate between 2007 and 2011. Ude, a veteran Journalist, ace broadcaster and former Commissioner in the state, died at 82 on May 15, 2023. He was buried in his Iyioji Akaeze hometown, Ivo Local Government Area of the state. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Three persons have been arraigned before the Ebonyi State Magistrate Court on a two-count charge for allegedly defrauding prospective job seekers over N11.3m. The trio whose names were given as Chidiebere Cyril Ndigwe, Ikembuchukwu Donatus and Madu Chioma were said to have conspired with others at large to commit the crime.
