Michael Onwuka, Enugu The Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation says it will provide the necessary assistance to realise the pencil production project at Projects Development Institute (PRODA), Enugu. The Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Uche Ekwunife disclosed this on Wednesday in Enugu during an oversight visit of members of the committee to PRODA. Recall that the management of PRODA had during a visit by the then Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu in 2016, announced its readiness to commence pencil production in the institute. Michael Onwuka, Enugu The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) says it is not against the presidential ambition of Mr Peter Obi or any other candidate. The South-East Zonal Chairman of the association, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Fury and tension have enveloped Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State following the alleged stabbing to death of a yet-to-be identified motorist by a personnel of the Federal Road Safe Corps, FRSC, on a road block at Umuikaa Junction of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki There has been total blackout  across the South-East as staff of electricity companies commenced strike on Wednesday. Spokesperson of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), Emeka Ezeh, stated this in a statement on Wednesday. The strike was called by National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) over welfare issues.
