Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Department of State Services, DSS, has said it had charged former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to court. This is coming six hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the DSS to either arraign or release him from its custody. Stephen Ukandu Umuahia The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has suspended Max Air Boeing 737 over safety concerns. This is coming barely 24 hours after the publication of a report by an investigative journalist, David Hundeyin, on how the aircraft narrowly escaped mishaps due to contaminated aviation fuel. The letter suspending the aircraft was signed by the Director, Operations Training & Licensing, Captain Ibrahim Bello Dambazau for Director General, Civil Aviation. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Many residents of Umuahia, the Abia State capital, have recounted their ordeals over power outage due to faulty electricity transformers in the city. Findings revealed that most of the transformers in the city are aging and overloaded, thereby resulting to frequent breakdown. Residents of the affected streets lamented that despite living in the capital city, some of them have been grappling in darkness for months. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka The Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State capital has sentenced a notorious robbery kingpin to die by hanging for killing a businessman in the state. The suspect whose name is Ikechukwu Udensi, popularly known as Ikanda, was initially declared wanted for killing, Mr Ndubuisi Nwokolo who until his death, was a trader in Onitsha.
