Michael Onwuka, Enugu The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Enugu State has suspended the one month old strike by public primary school teachers in the state. Recall that the NUT had in Circular No. 001/05/2022 dated May 6, 2022, directed public primary school teachers in the state to proceed on an indefinite strike. According to the circular signed by the NUT Chairman and Secretary, Messrs Theophilus Odo and Macs Nnaji, respectively, the strike was due to the inability of the state government to pay the teachers the N30, 000 minimum wage. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka No fewer than 1, 000 teachers employed by the government of Anambra State, under the immediate past governor, Chief Willie Obiano, have asked the incumbent governor of the state, Prof Charles Soludo, to give them back their jobs. The protesting teachers were recently sacked by the Anambra State Government with efforts being made to employ new ones. Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri The court of Appeal sitting in Owerri on Tuesday ordered the unsealing of Owerri branches of Zenith banks, which were last Thursday sealed off by the National Industrial Court in Owerri, by a garnishee order to pay the Ex-deputy governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere, his entitlements alleged to be over N1.9 billion. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki A Federal High Court in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State, on Tuesday nullified the re-scheduled Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held in the state on 4th and 5th of June 2022. Michael Onwuka, Enugu The new Director-General (DG), Projects Development Institute (PRODA), Mr Peter Ogbobe on Tuesday resumed duties with a commitment to fully commercialise research outcomes of the institute. Recall that the Federal Government had in a letter dated May 20, 2022 announced Ogbobe as the new DG of the institute for a non-renewable 5-year tenure.
