Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Abia Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu; Senate Minority Leader Enyinnaya Abaribe; and five other governorship aspirants of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, have withdrawn from the party’s primaries. Others include Senator Emma Nwaka, Nana Nwafor, Dr. Sampson Orji (Scourj), Chima Anyaso, and Ncheta Omerekpe. They announced their withdrawal from the PDP primaries after an emergency meeting at the Umuahia residence of the immediate-past Secretary to State Government, SSG, Dr Eme Okoro. Ikengaonline further reports that 19 aspirants purchased the nomination form of the party. Michael Onwuka, Enugu Former Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, has announced his withdrawal from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial primaries. The Director-General, Ikeoha Campaign Organisation, Mr Charles Asogwa, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Enugu.
