Our Reporter, Abuja Maybe it is time to go behind and persuade the president, Muhammadu Buhari, to go on a sort of sick leave and allow another person to take over because clearly he is not well. This is the position of respected journalist and media entrepreneur, Kadaria Ahmed, while speaking Wednesday on Arise TV programme, The Morning Show. A visibly agitated Ahmed said President Muhammadu Buhari is a total failure when it comes to security. “When it comes to security, Buhari is a total failure, I mean a total failure,” she said. The journalist said that the insecurity as a result of banditry is…
Stephen Ukandu, Umuahi Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has disowned media reports that it called for the inclusion of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in the proposed impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari. It described the purported press statement as the handiwork of charlatans and attention seekers impersonating the body. National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Dr Alex Ogbonnia, in a press statement, warned those issuing unauthorized statements purportedly on behalf of the apex Igbo body to desist from such unholy act. Below is a full text of the statement made available to Ikengaonline: “The attention of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has been drawn to…

By Jude Eze No counter argument was more baseless on the road to 2023 general election than the “religion shouldn’t matter” shenanigans by APC and Tinubu supporters. Pardon me for using separately, two words that should be synonymous. Ordinarily, whoever is supporting APC is a Tinubu supporter. But it is not so in today’s reality of the ruling party. Their insensitivity to the countenance of millions of Nigerian Christians that made them allow (or pressure) their Muslim flag bearer choose another Muslim as running mate has sharply divided the party into two lateral halves. In APC at the moment, there exists…

By Uzor Maxim Uzoatu I had an extravagance of laughter when a dear friend of mine showed me a so-called column written by Sam Omatseye. To give him his due, Sam Omatseye has been somebody I always wanted to encourage; for instance, agreeing to serve as the official reviewer of his novel at its launch in Lagos barely a week after burying my father in the East. I had my hilarious laughter upon seeing Sam Omatseye’s column because when you already know the end of a writing after reading just the first sentence, there’s no doubt that the writer is…
