Ben Ezechime, Enugu The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), a police advocacy group, has called for rebirth of national values among youths. The National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, made the call on Monday in Enugu while decrying the spate of moral decadence among youths in the country. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia President-Elect, Senator Ahmed Tinubu, has condoled with the family of a veteran journalist and Managing Editor of the Nations Newspapers (Northern Operations), Yusuf Alli, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Hawau Odee, who died on Sunday. The late businesswoman and community leader, died at 89. Alli is also President of the Rotary Club of Abuja Maitama. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The Police in Ebonyi on Sunday engaged kidnappers of a clergy in a shootout killing one of them and rescuing their victim unhurt. Police spokesperson, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident. She said two other members of the kidnap gang were also arrested after a shootout. Onome said the Commissioner of Police, Faleye Olaleye, had received a distress call that the victim, a clergy, had been kidnapped.
