Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, on Thursday dissolved the 27-man Interim Management Committee Chairmen of local governments in the state. Michael Onwuka, Enugu The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and its Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) counterpart have declared a total shutdown of the local government system and primary school sub-sector in Enugu State, effective July 28, 2022. The two unions disclosed this on Thursday in Enugu during a joint press conference following the non implementation of the N30, 000 minimum wage to workers at the third tier of government. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Thursday, approved cut-off marks for the 2022/2023 admission into universities and polytechnics in Nigeria. According to a release from JAMB, the cut-off mark for universities is 140 marks while that of polytechnics is pegged at 120 marks. The decision, according to the release was taken after a heated session comprising officials from JAMB, the Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission, and the National Board for Technical Education among others. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Government has denied reports making the rounds that it employed the services of herbalists and traditional spiritualists in fighting insecurity in the state. Reports have it that the State Government reached an agreement with traditionalists to eliminate criminally-minded elements and to stop making charms used by criminals especially, the ones used for abducting people.
