Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri The Imo State Police Command arrested and detained the traditional ruler of Umucheke in Umuobom in the Ideato South Local Government Area of the State, Eze Ekene Obinali, Wednesday over the alleged sharing of a damaging report on the WhatsApp platform linking the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia There have been tension and outrage in Aba, the commercial capital of Abia State as security operatives allegedly killed four protesters demanding the release of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Journalists in Anambra were, Friday, denied access to cover presentation of certificate of return of House of Assembly members elected during the March 18 election. Journalists, who trooped to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Awka, were turned back on the order of the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) Anambra State, Mrs Queen Agwu. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Coalition of Civil Society Organisations, CSOs, and stakeholders in Abia North, have insisted that the February 25 national assembly poll in the zone was inconclusive. The CSOs which addressed a press conference Friday in Abuja, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to quickly withdraw the certificate of return it erroneously issued to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and organise a re-run poll in the zone. Ben Ezechime, Enugu The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has urged self employed Nigerians including artisans, traders, and others to enroll in the Micro Pension Plan of the Commission to guarantee a functional retirement plan. The Head, Corporate Communications of PenCom, Abdulqadir Dahiru, made the call in Enugu at a sensitisation workshop organised by the commission. Dahuru further stressed the importance of Micro Pension Plan to Nigerians in the informal sector and those working in organisations with less than three employees.
