Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru on Friday, narrowly escaped death, after a truck rammed into his convoy while returning from a campaign rally at Uburu community Ohaozara LGA of the state. Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo World wide, Professor George Obiozor on Friday was laid to rest at his country home, Awo-Omamma in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State. The body of Obiozor, arrived at the Assumpta Cathedral, Catholic Church, along Port Harcourt Road in Owerri, at about 10:15 am. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka The Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Awka, has sentenced a 35-year-old woman to prison in Awka for offences of child labor, child exploitation and abduction of children. The convict, named Success James, was prosecuted before the Court on eight-count charge and found guilty of seven charges by the trial Magistrate. Delivering judgment on the case, the Chief Magistrate, Genevieve Osakwe, found James guilty of count one and sentenced her to five years imprisonment. Ben Ezechime, Enugu A defendant, Onyekachi Agbo, has told the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu that he wrote his confessional statement at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office involuntarily. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi, Wednesday insisted that the current communal crisis between the people of Oso-Edda in Afikpo South Local Government Area and Amasiri and Nde Ndukwe Communities in Afikpo North Local Government Area was politically motivated.
