Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri Former Governor of Imo State, and a presidential aspirant in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Rochas Okorocha, on Tuesday, dismissed as “unwarranted preaching,” remarks by Pastor Tunde Bakare where he was quoted as saying that “the Igbo ethnic group is cursed”. This was the recommendation of the Gov. Samuel Ortom-led 37-man zoning committee of the party which concluded its work in Abuja on Tuesday. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Ogbonna Amadi, has been appointed a Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG to fill the slot of South-East geopolitical zone following the death of DIG Joseph Egbunike who formerly represented the zone in the police hierarchy. The late Egbunike who hailed from Anambra State, died of complications after a throat surgery following a fish bone that allegedly stuck to his throat.
