Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri The Imo State Police Command has paraded one deserter from the Nigerian Army, Lance Corporal Nwangwu Chinwendu popularly known as “Onye army” aged 34-year-old man, from Amaohuru Nguru in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, for allegedly involved in the killing of prominent persons in the state. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has appointed Bashorun Akin Osuntokun, a former Political Adviser to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, as the Director General of his Campaign Organization. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Three persons have been killed, as rival gangs loyal to two All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts in Afikpo South Local Government area of Ebonyi State clashed. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has dispelled the rumour of death of its President General, Professor George Obiozor. The social media have been awash that Obiozor who is rumoured sick for about two weeks now is dead. Vice President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr Kingsley Dozie, who debunked the rumour, dismissed it as “unfounded and false.” According to him, a prominent Igbo son like Professor Obiozor could not have died and the family will not make a statement to that effect.
