Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Communities in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State who were submerged by the recent flood disaster have received interventions from UNICEF. According to the Enugu Field Officer, Mr. Andy Nwanze, who spoke at Nzam, the headquarters of Anambra West, the relief materials, were water treatment tablets, water, sanitation and Hygiene, Dignity kits, which contain bucket, gallon, soaps, toothpaste and children’s clothes. Ben Ezechime, Enugu A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Women Support Women (WSW), has embarked on aggressive mobilisation for women vying for elective positions in Enugu State. The Executive Director of WSW, Mrs Onyinye Mamah, said at a press conference in Enugu that the era of including women in elective positions just to quieten them was over. “That era was archaic, retrogressive and laid-back going with the collective aspiration of women,” she said. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Monday, restrained the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Federal Government and 27 listed commercial banks from “suspending, stopping, extending or interfering with the currency re-designation terminal date of February 10 or issuing any directive contrary to the date.” The Court presided over by Justice Eleoje Enenche, also restrained President Muhammadu Buhari and the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, from doing same. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki A Police officer, Inspector Ibrahim Kudu, attached to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Bernard Odoh has died. He has been on admission in the in intensive care unit at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki since Thursday night. He was rushed to the hospital after he sustained gunshot injuries when Mr Odoh and his campaign team were attacked near Okpoto in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state. In the attack, a driver to Mr Odoh was shot dead while Kudu and another Police officer sustained gunshot injuries. But Mr Kudu died on Monday in the hospital.…
Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Government has expressed its commitment to addressing the current scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) across the state to alleviate the sufferings of the people. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja, Monday, sentenced the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, to prison for flouting court order. Consequently, the court presided over by Justice R.
