By Azu Ishiekwene If there was a prize for Nigeria’s number one letter writer, journalist-turned-lawyer and one-time minister, Tony Momoh, would appear to be the undisputed champion.  The late Momoh performed the difficult task of making sense of General Ibrahim Babangida’s largely messy and convoluted political and economic programmes by writing regular letters to “fellow countrymen.” His extensive and elaborate undertaking later packaged as a book entitled, Letters to my Countrymen, was, to put it mildly, a labour of misery. It was a thoroughly thankless job. But how can Momoh’s letters ever hope to compete with those of former President Olusegun…

By Jude Eze This is actually a wrong time to author any write-up on executive Governor of Anambra state — His Excellency, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, since he’s already enmeshed in a tussle, analogous to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war, with the “Obidients.” And so, it is necessary to raise a caveat, that this piece was formally sketched to appraise Soludo’s six months in office, before his needless assault on Peter Obi’s probity and daylight disavowal of his presidential ambition. Earlier in April this year, when Soludo was barely three months in office, having seen the sweat beneath his armpits as he…

By Osmund Agbo One of the remarkable trends of the spring 2022 Paris fashion week that ended on Tuesday, October 4, and that of Milan that happened earlier in the year was not any particular silhouette or colour. Rather, it’s the idea that many designers, matter-of-factly defied convention to put both women and men on their runways in what would have been regarded as women’s attire. As someone who unabashedly professes love for fashion to the point of dabbling into the business side of it, I paid serious attention and have to say, I was a tad bemused. Seeing young men…
