Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Government has issued a statement suspending all forms of mining activities in different parts of the state. Commissioner for Information, Paul Nwosu, made the announcement yesterday, noting that the suspension followed the reckless, unauthorised and illegal mining activities going on at various sites within the State. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka A two storey building under construction has collapsed in Ifite Awka, Awka South Local Government Area. This is coming barely 24-hours after Dubai Lodge also in Ifite Awka collapsed. A source in the area said the building was still under construction as at the time it caved in. The source also said the building is located at No 19 Clement Ezeodili Street, an area dominated by Nnamdi Azikiwe University students hostels. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Minister for Works, David Umahi has debunked media reports that the Federal Government through the Federal Executive Council (FEC) stepped down inherited ongoing projects. Umahi, according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Uchenna Orji, on Friday stated this during an interactive meeting with contractors. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Army, on Thursday, raided more illegal refineries in Abia State and arrested no fewer than 21 suspected oil bunkerers. This is coming barely one month after over 14 boats were destroyed and several suspects arrested for oil bunkering during similar operation at Isimini. Ben Ezechime, Enugu The Enugu State Internal Revenue (ESIRS), has warned impostors against issuance of fake receipts to tax payers in the state saying that impersonation was a criminal offence. Mr Emmanuel Nnamani, the Executive Chairman, ESIRS, announced this  in a statement on Thursday in Enugu.
