Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Landlords in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State have protested against the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) over what they call ‘crazy bills.’ The residents stormed the EEDC office on Tuesday and decried what they described as “oppressive, outrageous and over-estimated” bills, ranging from N20,000 to N40,000 per house every month. Obi who disclosed this on his verified Twitter handle, said he would, among other things, understudy the Egyptian power sector, education, planning and finance. “I just departed for Egypt on a 3-day visit as part of my detailed study of comparable countries to Nigeria. The group, an Igbo socio-cultural think tank with members both in Nigeria and the diaspora, made the call through a press statement issued on Tuesday by its national secretary, Ngozi Odumuko.
