The Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Hon. Emmanuel Mwolpun, has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the Mangu metropolis following rising security concerns.
The curfew, which takes effect from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, will run daily from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. until further notice.
According to a statement issued by the Chairman’s Director of Press and Publicity, Jeremiah Dakahap, the decision followed consultations with security agencies aimed at safeguarding lives and property in the area.
Residents have been urged to strictly comply with the directive, remain indoors during curfew hours, and cooperate fully with security personnel.
While assuring residents of their safety, Mwolpun encouraged them to go about their lawful activities during the day but remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to security authorities.
Authorities said the curfew is part of broader efforts to restore peace and stability in the area, which has witnessed recurring security challenges in recent times.
Mangu Local Government Area is located about 48 kilometres from Jos, the Plateau State capital.
