Barely 48 hours after unknown gunmen reportedly attempted to strike the residence of Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, the hoodlums had again invaded the area and kidnapped about five individuals at gunpoint.
Ikengaonline gathered that the five persons kidnapped by the arm-wielding hoodlums were returning from a traditional marriage ceremony of a cousin to the Anambra State Commissioner for Special Duties, Sly Ezeokenwa.
A source said the victims were kidnapped around Akpo community in Aguata LGA at about 10pm on Monday, and that no contact has been established with them or the kidnappers.
Spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, has confirmed the incident.
He said the command had launched operation to rescue the abducted persons.
“The command has already made contact with the Honorable Commissioner for special duties, Mr Sly Ezeonkenwa, and operation is currently ongoing for possible rescue of the victims,” he concluded.
