Ahead of political campaigns leading to the 2023 general election, a prayer and intercessory group, Nigeria Prays, shall hold a national prayer rally for Nigeria.
This is contained in a joint statement by the Zonal Coordinator and Zonal Secretary of the group, Prof. Benjamin Marire and Apostle Chuks Alozie, respectively , and made available to newsmen on Friday in Enugu.
According to the statement, the South-East prayer rally which will hold in Enugu on Sunday, April 24, 2022, will seek God’s intervention as political activities kick-off in earnest.
It stated that the prevailing economic situation and the heated political climate in the country ahead of the elections had made such prayer summit necessary.
“This demands all Nigerians to continuously call upon God for divine intervention and direction for greater improvement of life for the masses and engendering of good governance,” it stated.
It further stated that the group had in the past 25 years mobilised and prayed for the peace, stability, progress and growth of Nigeria.
It urged intercessors, the clergy, traditional rulers, public servants, professional bodies, the Christian community and others to join to pray for the birth of a better nation.
The statement also encouraged Nigerians to continue to have faith in the unity, peace and progress of the country and trust that Nigeria would overcome its challenges.
The theme of the prayer summit is: ‘Dominion Over the Mighty.’
