A House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Ibe Okwara Osonwa has pledged to facilitate easy access to quality healthcare in his constituency.
Osonwa disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja while briefing newsmen after submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Abia State.
He said that lack of quality medicare remained one of the greatest challenges in his constituency, adding that the situation had led to avoidable health challenges in the area.
The seasoned technocrat and financial expert said if given the mandate, he would sponsor the necessary bills as well as use his contacts to ensure that the mineral resources in the area were harnessed to the benefit of the people.
Osonwa said that all he needed was the support of his constituents to represent them in the Green Chambers, adding that they would experience a new lease of life.
He said that he would take the necessary steps to build the capacity of the youths in the area with a view to making them self-reliant.
He also pledged to ensure that the young ones, including women, were well represented in leadership and policy making processes.
Osonwa said that his decision to join politics was borne out of his honest desire to bring about the much expected development in his constituency as well as lift much of his people from poverty.
“My driving force is the passion to serve my people. I am not going there to advance my personal interest or seek personal glorification.
“All I want is an opportunity to impact lives and make a positive history,” he said.
He urged his constituents to participate and take seriously the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration and also ensure they voted on the Election Day.
Osonwa said that with the needed support from his people, he was confident of securing the party’s ticket for the federal constituency, as well as emerge victorious in the general elections.
Ikengaonline reports that Osonwa, who was accompanied by his political associates and supporters, submitted the forms to party officials at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
