Ten persons have been arraigned in the Federal High Court sitting in Awka presided over by Justice Ngajiwa, over alleged involvement in conspiracy to murder, kidnap, destruction of property, terrorism, stealing, possession of firearms and disarming of a police officer among others in Isuaniocha, Awka North Local Government Area.
The ten persons arraigned include, Chisom Ngini; Chibuzo Nwankwo; Chigozie Ndudi; Obiadi Nwankwo; Osita Ebo; Onyebuchi Okeke; Friday Okeke; Emeka Onyeka; Okeke Chibuzo; and Mike Chizoba Nwankwo.
Presenting all the accused before the presiding Judge, the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Augustine Obbo, said the accused persons were arraigned on eleven-count charge of conspiracy, stealing possession of firearm, destruction of and burning of property, murder, kidnap, terrorism attempted murder, snatching of gun from a police officer among other charges.
The defence counsel to the accused Mr. Mike Ikegbunam said the accused persons remained innocent until proved otherwise.
On their parts, Mr. Tony Onyeagolum, former President-General of Isuaniocha, whose vehicles were destroyed and was threatened to be assassinated; and Mrs. Oluchi Anizoba, whose husband Mr. Ifeanyi Anizoba, was kidnapped and assassinated two years ago, prayed that all the perpetrators of the heinous crime be made to face the wrath of the law.
