Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia
Former Umuahia Correspondent of the SUN Newspapers, Mr Chuks Onuoha, kidnapped Tuesday night has been freed by his captors.
He regained his freedom Saturday morning after spending four days in the kidnappers’ den.
It is not yet clear if any ransom was paid but his abductors were demanding N10 million as condition for his release.
The journalist was abducted Tuesday night, around 9:00pm from his Umungasi, Ohuhu Umuahia country home.
His abduction was exactly 10 days after the former Provost of the Abia State Teaching Hospital Aba, ABSUTH, Professor Uwadinachi Iweha, was kidnapped in front of his house at Umuokpara, Umuahia.
Kidnapping for ransom has been rampant in Abia State in the recent times.
