The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; Yoruba pan socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere; Arewa Consultative Forum;  as well as the former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, will on Saturday arrive Imo State to deliberate on the “Igbo quest for Nigeria’s unity” ahead of the 2023 general elections.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Owerri, by the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, signed by the Chairman Planning Committee, Emma Mgbahurike; and Secretary, Victor Nwachukw; respectively.

According to the statement, the event is to mark the 80th Birthday Anniversary of elder statesman and veteran politician, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

It read in part: “The Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Chapter, under the leadership of Comrade Chris Njoku, invites all Patrons, Stakeholders, Captains of Industries, Party Chieftains, men and women of goodwill,  friends and well-wishers of the Chapel and our noble profession from all parts of Nigeria and beyond to the Lecture Series organised by the Chapel as part of activities marking the 80th Birthday Anniversary of a living legend, renowned engineer,  and Leader of Thought, Chief, Dr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo), holding on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the Imo Concorde Hotels, Owerri, by 10 am.

“The event will be chaired by the Former President, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; with his wife, Dame Dr Patience Jonathan, as Mother of the Day.

“Former President-General Emeritus of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide and present Coordinator, Southern/Middle Belt Forum, Chief Nnia Nwodo, will deliver a Lecture,  themed: ‘Igbo quest for Nigeria’s unity.’

“It is exciting that Nigeria’s great leaders such as the National Leader of PANDEF, Chief Edwin Clark; National Leader of Afenifere,  Ayo Adebanjo; National Chairman of PANDEF, Sen. Emmanuel Ibok Essien; National Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum, Chief Audu Ogbeh; Dr Bitrus Pogu of Middle Belt Forum;  President-General of Ohanaeze  Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof. George Obiozor; and Prof. Ango Abdullahi, National Chairman of Northern Elders Forum, will be present to make their contributions on the way forward for Nigeria’s unity,” the statement added.
