11 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream ‘1’ Corps members have been slammed with extension of their service year for various infractions.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Bamai Mercy, revealed this in Abakaliki, the state capital during the passing out parade of the batch.

According to her, one male Corps member is to repeat the entire service year.

She cautioned outgoing Corps members against indulging in criminal acts, that could bring bad image to the Scheme and their families.

She urged the outgoing Corps members to be good ambassadors of the Scheme, noting that indulging in crimes could jeopardize their future.

“You must be disciplined at all times, as it will benefit you, your family and Nigeria at large if you are of good behavior,” she said.

Bamai commended the remarkable achievements of the ex-Corps members in their places of primary assignment as well as in the area of Community Development Services in the state.

She charged them to keep the NYSC flag flying, by continuing to be good citizens of the scheme and the country at large.

“It is, therefore, my privilege to state without any fear of contradictions that they have performed creditably well, and thus deserve the honour being given to them today,” She said.

“We appreciate the selfless service to the nation, particularly in Ebonyi State. We enjoin you to be disciplined and be good ambassadors of the scheme. Shun activities that are criminal in nature such as online fraud,” she said.
