As more reactions have continued to trail the discharge and acquittal judgment of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, by the Appeal Court Abuja, the Action Alliance, AA, governorship candidate for the 2023 general election in Ebonyi State, Engr Chukwuma Nwandugo, has commended the judiciary for the historic judgement.

According to him, the judgment was not only historic, but signaled a lasting peace and cohesion in Igbo land.

The governorship hopeful, in a statement on Saturday, said the landmark judgment was capable of pacifying the Igbo nation for decades of marginalisation.

The statement made available to Ikengaonline read in part: “Kanu’s release will be a historic event in Igboland capable of making the Igbos feel they are never neglected by the Nigerian system.

“I personally hail the Appeal Court judgment that eventually freed Nnamdi Kanu, from the DSS custody.

“This is a landmark judgment and should be hailed by all Biafrans and all lovers of justice. Kanu’s release will usher in some level of peace and cohesion in Igbo land.

“This judgment will remind all Igbos that they are still part and parcel of the Nigerian system. It is a reminder that in a united Nigeria, we can still flourish and achieve our poised dream to better our lots. I hail this judgment and it means a lot to us all.

“I, therefore, urge all our elders, leaders and stakeholders of Igboland to forestall all acts or actions that will again, lead to the rendition of Nnamdi Kanu.”
