Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has inaugurated the state’s Human Capital Development Technical Working Group to improve health and nutrition, education and skill acquisition among indigenes and residents in the state.

Soludo who was represented by the state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, while inaugurating the group in his office at the Government House, Awka, Thursday,   informed the members of the group that there was work to do.

According to him, the group would identify gaps in human capital development and alert the State Government for action to be taken.

He noted that human capital development is one of the major agendas of Mr Governor, revealing that it reflected in his manifesto and also in Vision 2070.

He affirmed that it is for this reason that the Commissioner for Economic Planning was made the focal person, warning that anyone that is found wanting will be removed.

The Deputy Governor charged the group to get real time report of what is happening, and expressed that he expects to be fed with real time contribution from members of the group to enable the state to act accordingly in ensuring improved human capital development in the state.

In her remarks, the focal person for the Technical Working Group, and the Commissioner for Budget and  Economic Planning, Chiamaka Nnake, stated that human capital development is one of the national programmes that was cascaded to states towards improving human capital development, declaring that it will improve Health and Nutrition, Education and Skill acquisition for the people of the state.

She stated further, that each of the ministries of Education, Health and ICT will inaugurate technical committee group, to enable the state to take the lead towards achieving national mandate, concluding that ministry of Budget and Economic Planning will be coordinating other ministries.
