The people of Abor Community in Ehamufu, Isi Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, have embarked on mass campaign for, Mr Chijioke Edeoga, the gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party (LP).

The Leader of the community, Mr Festus Ede, said during the flag-off of the campaign that, they needed to sensitize their people on the provisions of the electoral act, 2022.

“We want to let our people know that, it is no longer business as usual.

“No more collection of N1,000 from PDP again; we  are out to support, Mr Chijioke Edeoga, our own, and other labour party candidates.

“That is why, we flagged off this  mass campaign: village to village; hamlet to hamlet; farm settlement to farm settlement campaign at Amaogbu Abor village square today,” he said.

Ede, a Lawyer, said there was no going  back in supporting LP and her candidates going by all the good things Edeoga had brought to the community in the past.

“These include, the construction of Ogomgo bridge; the Ashinu bridge; and even stopping government from taking our land when he was Isi Uzo Council Chairman in 1997-98,” he said.

Ede, a grassroots mobilizer, further said that, in addition to the projects, Edeoga has helped many youths of the community to secure jobs including himself.

According to him, Edeoga needs not come to Abor for campaigns, adding that, when he made the promise of going to construct the Ogomgo bridge nobody took him seriously.

“But today, Ogomgo bridge is there standing solid,” he said.

In the same vein, Mr Sunday Uzu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sumex PLC, Kano expressed appreciation to the community for coming out massively to embrace LP.

“I commend you for coming out to show support for Labour Party, I am assuring you that, LP has come to wipe away the tears of Enugu state people,” he said.
