The Executive Director/CEO,  Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Dr Ezra Yakusak has urged  women entrepreneurs in the South-East zone to improve their method of doing businesses through E-commerce transactions.

He said this at a One-Day programme on “promoting women inclusiveness and empowerment through non-oil export,” organised by the council in Enugu.

Yakusak, who was represented by, the Coordinator, South-East, Mrs Esther Ikpeora, said that e-commerce also increases their online presence and access to global market place.

“This programme is designed to promote women inclusiveness and empowerment through non-oil export.

“The theme, “leveraging on digital platform for market access and export development,” is a call for women led businesses to adopt e-commerce to improve their method of doing business,” he said.

He said that, NEPC had worked tirelessly to support the exporting community by enlightening them on how to adapt and leveraging new ways of doing business.

“Utilising digital marketing and e-business as tools to build business resilience for women entrepreneurs, introducing digital business transformation, leveraging e-commerce to enhance global market access for MSMEs,” he said.

According to him, NEPC was committed to providing unwavering support to women in export business.

“We will continue to implement programmes, initiatives, and collaborations to benefit and prepare women for export trade,” he said.

He said that the programme was part of activities lined for NEPC week.

Some of the trainees expressed happiness for the Programme and called on the council to continue to encourage them.

A participant, Mrs Lizzy brown said the programme was very rewarding.

“I really enjoyed the training session; it is very rewarding,” she said.

Another entrepreneur, Mrs Bridget Obi, from Onitsha in Anambra called on the NEPC to assist them in securing funds for their businesses.
