President Muhammadu Buhari, former governor, Sullivan Chime, and former senate president, Ken Nnamani, were the big names that were absent at the presidential campaign of APC candidate, Bola Tinubu, in Enugu.

Tinubu was at the Michael Okpara Square Enugu to solicit for votes in the February 25th, presidential election and the presentation of flag to the Governorship candidate of the party, Engr. Uche Nnaji.

Ikengaonline investigation reveals that the absence of notable members of the party was not unconnected with the alleged fraud rocking the party in the state.

It was reported that some party members hijacked the N1.3 billion released for the campaign while keeping others in the dark.

Our reporter in Enugu reports that most supporters at the venue of the campaign were imported from the neighboring states of Imo and Ebonyi with majority coming from Ebonyi.

Despite the APC presidential campaign in the Coal city, businesses and other activities continued to thrive.

Defending the poor turnout, Governor Hope Uzodimma blamed the current lingering fuel scarcity in the state.

“As I entered here, I saw the crowd, I know we are more than this. I learnt the vehicles we paid for did not come because of the prevailing fuel scarcity in the state,” he said.

Uzodimma, it would be recalled, is the South-East coordinator of BAT presidential campaign.
