University Lecturer and member of Peter Mbah Campaign Organization, Dr. Maxwell Ngene, has berated opposition candidates for the March 11, Governorship  election in Enugu State for maligning the PDP candidate.

Ngene said that members of the opposition, rather than focusing on their campaigns, were busy distracting Mbah.

He said this while reacting to a recent allegations of forgery of NYSC discharge certificate preferred against Mbah by a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Abuja.

He said: “After a careful and thoughtful reflection on the most recent smear campaign and the disruptive tactics of the opposition parties in Enugu State against the ruling PDP and its governorship candidate for the 2023 election, we have come to the conclusion that they have run out of ideas and have nothing else to throw at Dr. Peter Mbah.

“What they have done by falsely alleging that Dr. Peter Mbah has a fake National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) certificate is both inconceivable and preposterous and must be seen as such and condemned by all right-thinking individuals.

“It is the handiwork of men suffering from either multiple personality disorder or attention deficit disorder.

“These power-mongers are mentally ill and need urgent help,” he said.

Ngene, who is also a media consultant said: For those who love good things, those who yearn for a transformative and transcendental  leadership, our work have been clearly cut out for us.

“We need to redouble our efforts at ensuring that Peter Mbah wins this election.

“As the Late reggae star Bob Nesta Marley, would say, “it is the fight of good over evil,” he said.

According to him, Enugu as the Headquarter of the former Eastern Region and indeed Igboland needs an intelligent, conscientious, courteous, humane and efficient leader to play the needed pivotal role in bringing to fruition the tomorrow we all desire and pray for.

“We must show love and continued support for Dr. Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the PDP Governorship candidate.

“His antecedents clearly show that he is a fit and proper person to take Enugu State to higher ground – our El-Dorado,” he said.

He added that Mbah was a proven manager of men and resources.

“He is a workaholic, who has displayed immeasurable amount of energy since the flagging off of his political campaign.

“He has toured almost all the 17 Local Government Areas and the development centres in the state.

“He is a success story through and through and that, perhaps, accounts for the reason why those that can’t match his goals, plans, and vision for Enugu people are envious of him and have resorted to campaigns of calumny, mudslinging, name calling, and outright defamation of his character all in their nefarious bid to taint or tarnish his hard-won image and reputation,” Ngene stated.

He maintained that the opposition have failed in their attempt to distract Mbah.

“They have failed yet again. Peter Mbah is a man whose values, forethought and achievements have been hugely inspiring. Our votes are for him come rain, come shine.”
