Despite the late arrival of Election materials in most areas of Enugu North Senatorial zone in Enugu State, election is currently going on peacefully and smoothly across the district.
Ikengaonline reports that materials have yet to arrive at Eha-Ndiagu ward in Nsukka LGA hence voting yet to commence in all the polling units in the ward.
Also, in parts of Udenu, the same scenario is being observed. Though materials have arrived the RAC center at Government Secondary School Ogbodu-Aba, they are still being allocated to polling units hence voting yet to commence.
At Amaechenu polling booth under Eha-Ndiagu Ward are becoming restless and confused.
A voter, Mr Joseph Onah, said he was frustrated because he ought to have gone to the farm instead of wasting a whole day doing nothing.
“I am not used to idling away when there are things to be done,” he said.
A stakeholder from Ogbodu-Aba told our Correspondent that the materials were being sorted out but almost done.
“We are almost done and will soon get to the polling booth,” he said.
However, as materials arrived at about 11am, election has begun in earnest in parts of the Senatorial zone.
In Udenu area election in Ada-Obollo ward in Udenu Local Government Area is going on well, just as election is ongoing at Ogbodu-Aba ward without any skirmishes.
A voter at Ogbodu-Aba, Mr Sunday Ugwuoke, told Ikengaonline that the election was going on fine.
“We are almost concluding without any hitches,” he said.
At Amaechenu polling booth in Eha-Ndiagu ward, Nsukka Local Government Area, voting is going on smoothly.
In Igboeze South Local Government Area, things are also going on smoothly in many areas of the area.
In Igboeze North Local Government Area where it was rumoured that there is a 3-day sit-at-home declared by some unknown persons, Ikengaonline confirmed that the election is going on in the area.
A source told Ikengaonline that voting was ongoing with no ugly incidence reported so far.
“I can confirm to you that election is ongoing in Igboeze North, specifically I am at Ozzi ward, waiting to vote.
“Though we observed the lockdown yesterday, even without knowing where it originated from but I can confirm to you that today we are voting,” she said.
