The Labour Party Enugu State says it has observed with dismay the abysmal nature of work done by INEC Enugu State today being 25th day of February 2023 over late arrival of materials in various parts of the state.
Barrister Casmir Agbo, Chairman of the Party, said this in a release issued in Enugu on the ongoing election.
Agbo also accused INEC of non-inclusion of result sheets with other materials distributed across the 17 local government areas of the state.
He said tha party would not accept anything short of credible election.
He said: “We have noticed that the movement of materials throughout the state didn’t go down well as many areas received their materials very late as of (sic) 11am this morning.
“Also by 12noon, many voting centres have not commenced accreditation of voters.
“The BIVAS is a machine that is centrally controlled and once the time of locking, it will be locked and voters will be disenfranchised.”
The party chairman said that LP was not happy with the situation.
“We are not happy with the development in the state today.
“The late arrival of materials is aimed at disenfranchising the voters,” he said.
He alleged that there was a plot to rig the election at the point of uploading of the results.
Agbo called on INEC to cancel, in totality areas where voting didn’t take place or where the BIVAS didn’t work at all for a fresh ballot.
According to him: “LP Enugu State will not take anything that is short of clean electoral process and will not rest on its oars until victory is assured for the Nigerian people.”
