Ad hoc staff members  of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who worked in Anambra during the just concluded general election have threatened to occupy the Commission’s offices in the state if they are not paid their allowances before Tuesday.

The notice came barely three days after the ad hoc staff thronged the INEC Headquarters in Awka, with placards, demanding for the immediate payment of their allowances.

A fresh statement which was seen by Ikengaonline flying around in different social media platforms stating that their one week ultimatum will expire next week, after which they would proceed to the commission’s headquarter in Awka to “assist them in their work.”

It read: “2023 Anambra INEC Ad hoc Staff wish to put Anambra State INEC on notice of our planned visit to Anambra INEC  headquarters office to assist them in their work.

“To stop this planned visit by INEC ad hoc staff, we respectfully give the commission one week to pay us, or see us occupying their offices and doing their work for them.

The statement said the participants will comprise all INEC ad hoc staff including ROs, COs, SPOs, APOs that are yet to receive allowances for Presidential, National Assembly, and House of Assembly elections.
