Fifty two (52), members of the Biaran Zionist Front (BZF) led by Benjamin Onwuka, have been remanded in the Enugu Correctional Service facility.

The group were allegedly arrested Tuesday during the IPOB sit-at-home order in Enugu on their way to Government House to hoist Biafran flag.

They were arraigned at the Enugu Magistrate Court and subsequently remanded in prison alongside their leader Benjamin Onwuka.

The men were said to have taken off from a location at Independence Layout, Enugu, and headed towards government house area before they were arrested by the police.

According to a source: “When they started matching towards Government House, through Okpara Square, about five Hilux vans loaded with policemen came and arrested them.”

It was learnt that most of those arrested were elderly men and were not bearing arms.

Ikengaonline reports that the movement mostly populated by defunct Biafran Soldiers are based in Enugu and have no bearing with the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Reports indicate that this was the second time the group had been arrested and detained by the police for similar action.
