The Enugu State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu has given the State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Three working days to reply on the petition against, Mr. Peter Mba concerning his alleged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Certificate forgery.
The court gave the directive on Thursday after declining the request by the party seeking to strike out the petition.
It would be recall that the party had last week asked the court to strike out the NYSC certificate forgery petition against her candidate in the March 18 Governorship election on the grounds that the FCT High Court had decided the case.
However, the tribunal stated that such request could not be granted and that all decisions would be taken on the judgment day.
The party, however, pleaded with the tribunal again to be given more time to go back and bring new response to the alleged certificate forgery against her candidate, Peter Mbah
The tribunal obliged their request and gave them three days to do so when it will reconvene on the 13th of June, 2023.
The Labour and it’s candidate Barrister Chijioke Edeoga had a filed a petition alleging that Mbah, who is now the sitting governor forged his NYSC certificate and should be disqualified from election and Edeoga be declared winner of the election having been declared second by the INEC.
