It seems more troubles await the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the 2023 governorship election in Enugu State, Governor Peter Mbah, in the election petitions tribunal, as the Federal High Court Abuja presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo has resumed hearing in the case filed by the governor against the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/611/2023.
Peter Mbah, represented by Emeka Ozoani SAN, sought to move an application for an interlocutory injunction restraining the NYSC from appearing before the Election Petition Tribunal to give evidence with respect to the alleged forged Certificate of Service No. A808297 presented by Peter Mbah to INEC.
The Judge had barely waited for the learned SAN to finish speaking before cutting him short saying he (Judge) will not entertain any such application.
He told the SAN to forget about the injunction and concentrate on the main suit.
The court adjourned the case to July 11, 2023, to hear the preliminary objection challenging the competence of the suit filed by the NYSC.
With this development, the coast is clear for the NYSC to appear before the Election Petition Tribunal Enugu on 7th July 2023 to tender documents showing that Peter Mbah forged the discharge certificate he has been parading as his.
