The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria has inducted 64 graduands of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science in Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) into the Profession of Pharmacy.
The induction/Oath taking was the third and it took place at the Prof. Julius Onah Auditorium of the institution in Agbani.
During the induction, Ms Rejoicing Chijindum was celebrated as the best graduate of the inducted graduands with cash rewards and employment.
In his opening remark, the Chairman of the ceremony, Sir. Emeka Udeze, expressed happiness that the school has graduated the third set of its pharmacist.
Udeze who was represented by Dr.Egbuna Udeora noted that the university was coming out to be a very standard school and among the best in the country.
“I am happy and I know that my principal will also be happy because he is an industrialist with the fact that we have standard pharmacist close to us,” he said.
The ESUT Vice Chancellor Prof. Alloyius Micheals Okolie welcomed everybody and congratulated the graduands and the faculty for their resilience in ensuring academic excellence.
Okolie reiterated that the school management is ever committed to improving the academic standard and quality of all facets of the university.
“I wish to inform the public that we have started given out certificate to graduands after graduation and no more statement of result.
“We must encourage the students to graduate and must produce quality students in this regard, and the management will offer automatic employment to the best graduating student of the 2022/2022 set.
“It is worthy to note that after your induction, your convocation ceremony will be coming up on Nov.18, 2023, congratulations ones again,” Okolie noted.
Also, Prof. Anthony Attama, the Dean Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (ESUT) encouraged the graduands to always strive for excellence as they join the noble profession of pharmacy.
He noted that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree programme starting from 2023/2024 academic session.
The Registrar Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) felicitated with the University Community and the graduands on the induction/oath taking ceremony of the graduands of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree.
The best graduating student, Pharm Rejoicing Chijindum, thanked the University VC, Dean of the faculty and others who mentored them during the process for thier encouragement.
She also thanked the parents, academic and non-academic staff for their support to the student and promised to be a good representative of the institution.
