Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Barr. Gozie Nwachukwu, has condemned what he described as Governor Hope Uzodimma’s abandonment of Imo State for Abuja.

Nwachukwu who featured on Arise TV programme, compared Uzodimma and the other governors in South-East on the issue of insecurity in their respective states.

According to him, “What has been happening in Imo State has been so depressing. You could see the man from Anambra; you could see the Governor of Enugu State; Mbah on Monday going to market and other public places restoring confidence in the masses but what has happened in Imo is that the state has been abandoned by the Governor.”

“The Governor is no longer resident in the state. The man is now in Abuja. So what happens is that when there is a security challenge, there is nobody to come out to speak to the people.

“During the seven-day sit-at-home in South-East, there was a meeting held by the South-East leaders it was chaired by Imo Governor here in Abuja,” he regretted.
