Weeds have literally taken over virtually all the buildings at the Council headquarters of Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
The sorry-state of facilities at the Council secretariat has triggered fear of dangerous reptiles among workers and visitors at the secretariat.
When Ikengaonline visited the secretariat while covering the visit of the General Officer Commanding GOC 82 Division Nigeria Army Enugu, Major Gen. Hassan Taiwo Dada, it was observed that the entrance doors to many of the structures at the premises had been overgrown by weeds.
It was also observed that part of the roof of the building housing the secretariat of Council of Traditional Rulers in the complex had caved in.
The entire premises including the playground inside the secretariat looked so unkempt and dilapidated.
Traditional Rulers in the LGA had converged at the secretariat to receive the GOC who was on operational tour in Abia State.
One of the traditional rulers who did not want to be mentioned expressed disappointment over the level of dilapidation at the Council headquarters.
He called on Government for urgent intervention.
