Gunmen numbering four have reportedly invaded Agbada village in Nenwe community, Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State and killed three youths.
According to a community source, it was not immediately known where the gunmen emerged from as they wore masks and took the villagers by surprise.
“We did not know where they came from; whether from neighboring village or from the bush because it was early in the morning.
“They took the whole village by surprise and because of the AK-47 rifle that they were carrying everybody went indoors, especially the youths, nobody had the courage to come out to challenge them,” the source said.
The identified victims were, Hillary Uche, Emulemoke and Kingsley.
It was further gathered that the hoodlums burnt a house after searching it without finding their target.
The source informed Ikengaonline that the incident had caused anxiety among the villagers.
“Everyone is in shock and afraid of even going out. There is panic everywhere. This kind of thing has never happened in our village,” said the source.
